Does the lump feel hard or kind of squishy? It could be a fatty tumor. My Pit bull has the same thing on his side and it got to the size of about a softball at one point. It's now about the size of a baseball again. It doesn't seem to bother him at all though? We are going to the vet for another problem he has in the next week or so and maybe they can give us an answer as to what it might have been.
